Exhibition on Small Industries and
Rural Development
An
Exhibition was conducted from 26th to 28th October 2007
at Hindu College Premises in Batticaloa. Mr. M.D.A.G.Rodrigo, Chief Secretary-Eastern
Province, District Secretary-Batticaloa and Senior Officials of Eastern
Provincial Council and Districts Administration inaugurated the Exhibition by
hoisting the National, Provincial and District flags. Varieties of exhibits of
production of Provincial Department of Industries and Provincial Department of
Rural Development were displayed at the exhibition.
Private sector industrialists
were provided space to display and marketing their produces in separate block
in order to promote rural industries in the Eastern Province.
More
than 3,000 persons visited the exhibition and some of them purchased items of
their choices. In the evening on the last day of the exhibition, certificates
and rewards were presented to winners in competitions.
