Provide facilities and guidance to implement educational policies efficiently and effectively to all institutions in the school education system in the Eastern Province to develop students with balanced personality.

Estimate, procure, store school uniforms, books and mid day meals.

Co-ordinate and monitor examinations with Commissioner of Examinations

Direct zones and divisions regarding organization and administration of schools

Supervise and approve the activities of the School's Development Societies of the National Schools

Maintain the standard and quality of teaching and learning process by co­ordinating with the relevant subject officers in the zones

Information management (gather, analyze, store, update and distribute data). School mapping and school network rationalization

Handle all salary matters of provincial educational officials and preparation of their pension documents
