The Provincial Council has been established under the 13th Amendment to the Constitution and Provincial Council Act of 1987.  The Chief Secretary is functioning as the Secretary to the Chief Minister and Holds responsibility as Head of Administration and Chief Accounting Officer. The main function of the office is coordinating all the devolved functions and concurrent subjects in order to deliver services to the Provincial Public.

 

1.         Mission:

 

Effective Provincial Administration by the exercise of powers vested in the Provincial Council in terms of 13th Amendment of the Constitution of Sri Lanka.
