Department of Building function under the Ministry..

Functions
Planning and
prioritizing reconstruction, rehabilitation and development of affected social
& economic infrastructure.

Planning and resource allocation for rehabilitation,
reconstruction projects.
2.
Implementation of rehabilitation & reconstruction
projects through relevant sectoral agencies.
3.
Monitoring of the projects.
4.
Supervision & providing guidance to the Department of
Buildings to carry out their functions in:
v Assisting
Provincial/Govt. Institutions in keeping all public buildings in good condition
and maintaining all items with a view to ensuring efficient use of national
assets.
v Assisting
Provincial/Govt. Institutions in creating new capital assets.
v Assisting
Provincial/Govt. Institutions in strengthening and building up their
capabilities to create new capital assets.
5.
Providing assistance to Department of Social Services to
make the disadvantaged partners in national development by providing necessary
relief measures.
6.
Providing assistance to the Department of Probation and
Child Care Services to enable them to provide equal opportunities for
unprotected children and others in conflict with the law while promoting and
preserving their rights in keeping with national policies and international
standards for children.
7.
Providing awareness on gender issues among public officers
and general public and making the women active partners of the development
process.
