A Tree Planting Programme was held at Oddamavady under the patronage of Secretary of Chief Ministry, Eastern Province. This function was organized by Oddamavady Pradeshiya Sabha under fund allocated for Environment. At this occasion Mrs.Abdul Jaleel, Secretary of Chief Ministry was attended along with Administrative Officer of Chief Ministry of Eastern Province.

According to the instruction given by Chief Secretary, Eastern Province, Chief Ministry has taken steps to start organic tree planting on 15.11.2021 with the support of staff. At the event all staff were actively participated and planted Brinjal, ladies finger and green chilies. This is an initial step to encourage the officers towards organic farming. Also it will pave the way to reduce the non-communicable diseases which are directly linked to the excessive use of chemical fertilizer on food crops.
