The opening ceremony of the New Building of the Provincial Director Office of Provincial Irrigation Department was held on 16th December 2020 at Thiraimadu, Batticaloa.

Hon.Anuradha Yahampath, Governor, Eastern Province, Mr.Thusitha P.Wanigasingha, Chief Secretary, Eastern Province, Mr.K.Sivanathan, Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation, Animal Production and Development, Fisheries, Co-operative Development, Food Supply and Distribution - EP, The Provincial Director of Irrigation, The Deputy Directors of Provincial Irrigation Department, Irrigation Engineers and staffs of Provincial Irrigation Department were present. With National flag hoisting, the program was started and Ribbon cutting and oil Lambing were followed.

Then, the gathering was addressed by Eng.S.Ganeshalingam, the Provincial Director of Irrigation, and the main speech was delivered by the Honorable Governor, Eastern Province.

Finally, The Vote of Thanks and the concluding remarks were delivered by Eng.U.L.A.Nazar, the Deputy Director of Irrigation, Ampara Range.
