Department of Animal Production and Health, Eastern Province is presently organizing “Rabies Awareness Week” from 29th October to 2nd November 2018 in various parts of Eastern Province. Dog sterilization as well as rabies control activities are planned to be held during the course of this week in collaboration with the Department of Health and Department of Local Government, Eastern Province
Furthermore “Rabies Free East Walk 2018” was organized on 29th October 2018 in Trincomalee to create awareness among the general public of the fatal disease rabies as well as to highlight the importance of rabies control programs.
D.M.S.Abayagunawardana, Chief Secretary Eastern Province, K.Sivanathan Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Production & Health, Dr.M.A.M.Fazi, Provincial Director Department of Animal Production & Health and other officials as well as general public participated in this event.
