Two women headed families were benefited under Dairy development through empowerment of women project under Line Ministry fund. Each beneficiary received one milking cow on 11th June 2020. Objective of this project are increase income and increase nutrition level of farm family. The cows were supplied from regional livestock farm - Uppuveli.
Hemorrhagic septicemia (HS) is a highly infectious disease among cattle and buffaloes characterized by an acute fatal septicemia condition with high morbidity and mortality. An outbreak of Hemorrhagic septicemia (HS) was occurred in Pottuvil range at Western part of Komari Junction in a buffalo herd. Immediate action has been taken under leadership of Deputy Director Ampara and veterinary surgeon Pottuvil and started vaccination programme in that area to make herd immunity as preventive measure.
