French Ambassador for Sri Lanka His Excellency Jean Marin called on the Governor of Eastern Province Hon. Rohitha Bogollagama at Taj Samudra Hotel, Colombo. The two hour meeting was held based on economic development in the Eastern Province.Governor also pointed out the opportunities on investments in the area of tourism, fisheries and Trincomalee port.

Mr. Martin Parent, Director for the French Agency for development also participated in the discussion. Mr. Asanka Abayawardana Secretary to the Governor, Mr. Hassan Alaldeen, Media Secratory to the Govenor and Mr. Poologasingham PA to the Governor also accompanied at the discussion.

Eastern Province Tourism Bureau monthly board meeting held at Pasi Villa hotel in Pasikuda on 4th May 2018. Governor of the Eastern Province Hon. Rohitha Bogollagama also participated in the meeting headed by newly appointed Chairman of the Bureau Mr. Kosala Wikramanayaka.

Governor of the Eastern Province Hon. Rohitha Bogollagama flagged off the 2nd Edition of the Sri Lanka (SL) T-Cup International Cycle Race started from Pasikuda at 9.00 am on 4^th May.Three-day race will finish at Negombo on 6^th May 2018.

106 International riders representing 14 countries and 14 National riders participated in this event. Eastern Provincial Council, Eastern Province Tourism Bureau and local government authorities supported the event.

A “Hela Bojun Hala” was ceremoniously declared opened by Hon Rohitha Bogollagama Governor of Eastern Province on 29^th April 2018 at Padiyatalawa in Ampara District. This was constructed at a cost of Rs 17.0Mn jointly by the Eastern Province Transport Authority and Ministry of Agriculture. 

It was constructed to fulfill the His Excellency the President’s vision for a toxin free nation free from diseases and malnutrition. This center will provide nutritious, healthy and safe traditional food to everyone In addition these centers provide the passengers with enhanced facilities including toilets, wash rooms and resting area. Eastern Province Transport Authority has initiated action for constructing five more such centers in Eastern Province including Kantale, Vaharai ,Morawewa and Batticaloa.
