Hon Governor Rohitha Bogollagama was the chief guest at the stroke awareness "Stroke walk" held at Baticaloa on 24th February organized by Ministry of health and General Hospital Baticaloa.

Deputy minister of Health Hon Faizal Casim Director Genaral of Health Dr. Anil Jasinghe officials of health ministry, Provincial Health Secretary and officials, large number of Doctors, School students and large number of general public participated in this grand event.

Hon. Governor of the Eastern Province Rohitha Bogollagama has participated as a Chief Guest at the 70th National Independence Day, which was held in Trincomalee on 04/02/2018.

Chief Secretary of the Eastern Province, Trincomalee District Secretary, senior officials, three armed forces were attended this event. School children's cultural events took place in this event.

Two web-based software systems namely, Asset Management System (AMS) and Revenue Information Management System (RIMS) were officially launched by the Chief Secretary, EPC on 24th January 2018. 

The Chief Secretary presiding the function said that AMS will help provincial agencies in minimizing cost of acquiring the assets with limited resources. In addition, it will also help in operating, maintaining, disposing and renewing the non-financial assets. 

A ceremony to vest the new Out Patients Department and the ward complex built at the Kalawanchikudi Base Hospital in Batticaloa held under the patronage of His Excellency the President Maithripala Sirisena on 01.02.2017.
