A Special Meeting was chaired by Mr. R.M.P.S.Rathnayake , the New Chief Secretary of the Eastern Provincial Council, on 10.10.2022 at the Conference Hall of the Chief Secretary’s Secretariat , Trincomalee to review the the current status of the important matters including development and administration pertaining to the Ministries and Departments of EPC including cluster agencies under Chief Secretary Secretariat, Governor’s Secretariat, Provincial Council Secretariat and Provincial Public Service Commission.

Mr.N.Thamilchelvan, Deputy Chief Secretary Planning with his staff facilitated the entire review session which was conducted ministry wise at separate time schedule with the participation of Secretaries, Deputy Chief Secretaries, Heads of the Departments and other relevant senior officials of the EPC.

A brief presentation was delivered ministry wise to overview the current progress of the AIP-2022 of the relevant sector agencies, followed with productive discussion on burning issues related to development and administrative matters being experienced by the provincial institutions. Chief Secretary, while welcoming the heads of the provincial institutions, requested all the Heads to perform their functions in a systematic way and to be accountable for any matter under their purview through a positive approach.

The forum was ended up with feasible solutions to overcome existing shortcomings and for taking up corrective measures in future endeavors by the Heads of the Provincial Departments.
