'The National Tree Planting Programme was launched at Provincial Department of Agriculture, Eastern Province, Kanniya Road, Varothaiya Nagar today on 2020.10.28.

The planting programme was held with the participation of Chief Secretary, Secretary - Ministry of Agriculture, Provincial Director of Agriculture and Department of Agriculture staffs.

The aim of this programme is to achieve the national forest cover to 30%. Parallelly the same programmes are being launched at Ampara, Batticaloa & Trincomalee Districts.
