On the request of the Hon. Dayasiri Jayasekara, State Minister of Handloom and batiks, the trade fair was arranged on 12^th & 13^th of January 2022 at santhankerni playground, Kalmunai in Ampara to provide the market opportunities for the handloom and batiks entrepreneurs in Eastern Province. Nearly 50 stalls had been established and all stalls were occupied.

35 entrepreneurs from handloom and batiks were selected with the recommendation of the Divisional Secretaries using some criteria and supported worth of Rs 20, 000/- materials during the trade fair event on 12^th January 2022 at Kalmunai, Ampara. It is a great help for the entrepreneurs who are struggling to deal with their productions activities due to the scarcity and price escalation of materials.
