The 1st Provincial Planning Committee Meeting (PPC) of EPC for the year 2021 was chaired by the Chief Secretary Mr.Thusitha P.Wanigasinghe on 10th August 2021 at 9.00 a.m. at the EPC Conference Hall, Varothayanagar, Trincomalee.
Chief Secretary in his welcome remark, warmly addressed to the participants that this meeting was much crucial under prevailing Covid -19 situation in order to review the current progress of the Capital Development Programmes carried out by the the provincial agencies. He further noted that it was a great opportunity after a longer period to discuss widely on the ongoing development matters beyond all the Covid-19 restrictions in the province.
The DCS-Planning briefed on overall Capital Budget including PSDG , CBG and other Programmes of Budget Proposals, Line Ministries and Special Projects. And, he also overviewed the current situation of the ongoing development activities under all sources and expenditure situation.
With the direction of Chief Secretary, the Heads of Departments were able to obtain productive decisions at the forum for overcoming their existing development issues/shortcomings in related to ongoing capital development programmes. Chief Secretary in his conclusion, sensitively advised every senior official to provide smart services to the public with reducing unnecessary spending which would definitely reduce the financial burden of the country especially under Covid-19 pandemic situation.
The Secretaries, Deputy Chief Secretaries, Heads of Departments and other relevant senior officials of EPC participated at this meeting.
